About the artist:
Gloria Eriksen is a multi-talented artist and a native Californian. She’s a successful illustrator of children´s books and is also a packaging and graphic designer. However, her favorite subjects are flowers and her passion is watercolors. Gloria studied art at the Art Center School of Design as a fashion designer. She combines realistic accents and fragile impressionist elements of style into a harmony of shapes and colors. Her astonishing compositions are charming to the eyes of the viewers. The artist has painted as long as she can remember and was lucky to have teachers who cared enough to nurture her artistic talents. She paints in mixed media, acrylics, collage and oils. Her favorite subject matter is flowers and she has a huge collection of references and floral books in her home studio in San Diego, which she shares with her two cats and a dog.
Gloria was named the most outstanding art student in her college, a recognition that really encouraged her. After her graduation she went on to a career as an illustrator and designer, working initially for a well-known cosmetics company as a package designer before beginning a career as a graphic designer, freelance artist, and painter of fine art originals. She produces art in a variety of finishing options as she believes this will increase their collectability. She has participated in many art exhibitions where her art has been received warmly and has received many positive reviews from professional critics. Many galleries and collectors stock her art because they are in great demand.
