We all learn by imitating the masters. Whether it’s trying to copy Hendrix’s guitar parts or Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, the process of dissecting and attempting to understand and replicate greatness is one of the greatest lessons we can teach ourselves. This, and a series of other paintings came from a period of studying and attempting to partly understand his blue period.
