I love what I do. I am the manager in charge of launching and running McLitho Publishing and McLitho Art. We publish children’s books and also sell original artwork and prints from select artist.

I start my day after taking my son to school with a strong coffee working on my laptop. I check my email, Facebook, Instagram, the webshop and answer all emails and inquiries from customers, business partners, artists, suppliers and colleagues. My days are filled with talking to organizations, authors, illustrators, painters, photographers, looking for ideas at events and interesting websites, and looking at locations where we can hold exhibitions and readings in the future. I oversee the web designer with updates to our websites. Even though I have never made videos before, I am starting to produce TikTok videos and try to find good spots for them. Where is the light good? Which perspective is interesting? What subject? I shoot dozens of short clips. Then I decide what was good and what looked totally stupid. After that, my intern Jonah gets them with the task to look them over and give me an honest feedback. Jonah is 17 and familiar with TikTok. He is also in a school project that deals with visual media and his main focus is videos. He is a real professional. Afterwards I will look for interesting pictures from an art portfolio I have access to, which I would like to offer in the pre-owned area. They are in storage and therefore always a bit dusty. I take 4-6 pictures with me and clean them carefully. Then I can see better the condition and in case of doubt I can sort them out again, if they are damaged for example. Then I place them and take photos of the pictures, which I then send to our web designer with a kind of docket with all the data about the picture.

I love my job because I started an apprenticeship as a lithographer in 1989 and my profession was my hobby. I have done additional training in the field to complete my professional portfolio and started my own small, very successful agency in Hamburg. I did exclusive work for many well-known global companies until I had to look for another job with a heavy heart, because the technical development was so advanced that finally everybody could do this work at home. Since then I have always worked for logistics and e-commerce companies and have been so successful that I have received several awards for my work. For personal reasons, I came to Las Vegas in 2019 and have stayed here. Emily offered me a job managing billing at her law firm, which I took on a temporary basis. Following that, we both got excited about the new project together, something we had had in the back of our minds for a long time, publishing her children's books.

Now I am fully back in my profession and together with Emily I am fervently building up this new business with the two facets and I want my profession to become my hobby again.
